Description:
Being a gifted and/or 2e adult can be difficult. Navigating your own family; fitting into the workplace; dealing with emotional dysregulation; and living with intensity can take its toll over the years. As we age, life does not get any easier. This 3 part series will examine adulthood as a gifted/2e person and provide resources and strategies for the journey.
Webinar 1: The Aging Gifted Brain
The human brain is an amazing organ. It is so complex that we have yet to fully understand even a small portion of its full capacity. That said, once we reach middle age, this incredible computer begins to slowly diminish. Neuro pathways begin to retreat and we have to work harder to maintain mental agility. Our gifted brains are no different. In this webinar we will take a closer look at the aging gifted brain and how we can continue to keep it sharp.
Webinar 2: Exploring the Gifted Adult Experience
Gifted adulting can be a unique experience. You may experience life in a very intense manner. This intensity permeates every aspect of living including building/maintaining relationships, working/collaborating, pursuing goals/dreams, or even experiencing loneliness. This webinar will focus on living fully as a gifted adult and will explore what it takes to find fulfillment.
Webinar 3: The Gifted Adult 2.0: When Life Changes
As we age, life can change with us. Our world can grow and ebb. Suddenly we may find ourselves unemployed, or underemployed. Our children move on leaving us as empty nesters trying to figure out what's next. Our goals and needs mighty change. We may be suddenly confronted with the bigger question of who we are and how we fit into a changing world that doesn't quite make sense or feel right. Do I have to reinvent myself? What is my value? How do I move forward in a productive way? This session will examine how to cope with the inevitable pace of change as a gifted adult.
Meet Dr. Mike Postma:

Hello! I'm Dr. Mike Postma, an educator, speaker, author, consultant and coach residing in beautiful Bellingham, WA. Together with my wife, Julie, we have raised our own 4 gifted/2e children and know how difficult this journey can be. That is one reason I have dedicated my life work to the holistic development of the gifted/2e community. In my 25+ year career, I've served as a Gifted Teacher in the classroom, as an Administrator of gifted schools, as a professional developer of gifted programming and curriculum and as Executive Director of the SENG organization (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted), and now leading our company Gifted & Thriving, LLC. I look forward to spending time together with you to learn how we can best teach and support this exceptional community so we can all move from a place of just surviving to THRIVING! I look forward to the journey with you!
